Shaped by young people

When we launched our ten-year ambition to support ‘10,000 young people facing disadvantage due to inequality in their everyday lives to become the best version of themselves’ in 2021, we put young people at the front and centre of everything we do. As part of this ambition, we made a commitment to be Shaped by Young People. That means being informed by them and being accountable to them.

That’s why we’re really excited to be hosting an online community event this week to hear more of their views on what the key issues, challenges and barriers facing young people today are in their opinion; as well as learning more about what their ideal wellbeing programme might include.

This is the second of three phases of a research project we are undertaking in conjunction with market research organisation Savanta, thanks to funding from the National Lottery. Over the next few months we’ll be engaging with over two thousand young people from across the UK. We will use the results to inform our programme content and delivery structure to ensure we are providing the best possible means for them to be the best versions of themselves. And we’ll unashamedly shout about what we’ve learnt to make sure their voices are heard.

With their input, our sporting champions will help the next generation move forward with confidence.
