In 2020 Captain Sir Tom inspired the nation with his amazing fundraising efforts. Friday 30 April would have been Captain Sir Tom’s 101st birthday and is the one-year anniversary of the extraordinary celebrations that followed the conclusion of his fundraising walk that raised an incredible £38.9 million for the NHS.

To celebrate this achievement and help raise much needed funds to support young people, the team at the Trust decided to get involved with the challenge this year - and we'd love YOU to get involved as well.

All you need to do is dream up your Captain Tom 100 – an activity of your choice based around the numbers 100 – and do it any time and anywhere from Friday 30 April through to Bank Holiday Monday 3 May. So far at the Trust we have come up with the following ideas:

  • Pippa will be building 100 sandcastles on the beach with her family and friends
  • Ben will be playing 100 holes of Crazy Golf
  • Bev will be performing a 100 second dance routine on her hover board
  • Ane will be doing 100 minutes of NON STOP HIIT activity
  • Richard will be scoring 100 penalties
  • Ali will be playing vinyl non stop for 100 minutes
  • Nat will be scoring 100 basketball shots at her local court

Ali with some of her vinyl and Pippa's beach where 100 sandcastles will be!

Your 100 could be walking 100 steps or running 100 metres, scoring 100 goals, baking 100 cakes, climbing 100 stairs, hopping 100 laps of the garden, writing a 100-word poem, flipping 100 pancakes – anything at all, inside or outside. It’s your chance to do it your way!

To raise funds for the Trust, simply sponsor the team at the Trust directly here - we'll be sharing our efforts leading up to and on the weekend of the challenge itself on our social media channels, so follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram!
