About us Our news Proud to be part of Sport Gives Back Awards Dame Kelly Holmes Trust are proud to be part of the Sport Gives Back Awards, a brand-new initiative, celebrating the amazing work of varying charities, organisations and individuals who make it possible, through sport, to change lives. The first Sport Gives Back Awards is taking place on Thursday 5th March 2020, at the Royal Institution in London. The primary purpose of the Awards is to shine a light on the vital work of sporting charities and organisations up and down the country, who are successfully delivering solutions at all levels. The initiative is the brainchild of former athlete Connie Henry, Founder and Director of Track Academy, whose organisation has more than a decade’s experience making a positive impact on young people’s lives. Sport Gives Back is backed by a glittering array of sporting legends who will be in attendance on the evening, including Lord Coe, Dion Dublin, Daley Thompson CBE, Crista Cullen MBE, Jason Robinson OBE, and Lee Dixon as well as our own Col. Dame Kelly Holmes. On the evening, each of the ten charities will present an award to recognise an individual or group within their community who most impressively use sport to deliver positive outcomes for young people and society. We will be using the evening to present our first More than Medals athlete award to one of our athlete mentors who has gone above and beyond in their commitment to the young people they have worked with.
