Chris grew up in Middlesbrough and started competing in athletics at the age of 11 and went on to represent his country at Under 15/17/20/23 and at senior level. He competed as a World Class long jumper for more than ten years.

Chris reached three Olympic Games finishing 5th in Athens 2004 and 6th in London 2012. He broke the British record on five different occasions and picked up medals at the World Indoor and Outdoor championships.

Giving Back

Chris has always wanted to give back to sport and has delivered in excess of 300 assemblies through working with Team Super Schools, Sports for Schools, sporting champions and his own independent work.

Chris is a passionate member of his community who helps out as a volunteer at Middlesbrough sports village and is on the board of the Teeside Philanthropic society.
