David’s international swimming career spanned 12 years at the highest level, which included being the youngest athlete at the 2004 Paralympic Games.

David has competed at both European and World Championships, where he obtained numerous records and international medals. In 2009 he won two bronze medals at the World Championships and another at the European Championships that year.


David transitioned over to Paratriathlon in 2013 and within that time he made the team for the Paralympic Games in Rio 2016, finishing 10th in the Paratriathlon, the first time this event was included in the Paralympics.

Giving Back

David is the Athlete Team Leader for the South West and has been lead mentor on six of the Trust’s Flagship Get On Track Programmes. David feels it is very rewarding to capitalise on his experiences to help transform disadvantaged young people and help them to lead more positive lives.
