Gabriella 'Gabby' Marshall is a current international netballer, playing for England and for her club Saracens Mavericks.

Aged four and watching her older sister training at Oldham Netball Club, Gabby was bribed to join in by a coach with the promise of a large teddy bear in return. She did, and soon fell in love with the sport.

After working her way through national age group competitions, Gabby was called up to the England Under 17s team and went on to represent and captain England at u17, u19 and u21 levels on various international tours. She did this alongside successfully gaining a Physiotherapy degree. The highlight of her youth international career was a bronze medal at the 2017 World Youth Cup in Botswana.

In 2017 Gabby made her senior England Roses debut in Cardiff and has been part of the Roses full time training programme since then, winning six caps as of May 2020.

Giving Back

Gabby enjoys giving back and will often spend time helping to support younger athletes. She enjoys visiting clubs and schools to offer Q&As and to talk about what she has learnt from her journey so far.

Why did you want to join the More than Medals programme?

Gabby wanted to join the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust to help mentor and support others towards their goals, as well as to continue to develop herself and her own skills.
