Former GB Olympic Swimmer Grant learnt to swim while on a family holiday in Florida. He was an unused member of the British 4x100m freestyle relay team at the Rome World Championships in 2009 and he made his global debut in Shanghai in 2011.

He formed part of the sprint relay squad in China and performed the same role at London 2012 after securing his place with 100m freestyle silver at the second Olympic trials in June 2012.

Grant competed for Great Britain in the 4×100 metre freestyle relay at the 2012 Summer Olympics. He is from Swindon and went to university in Loughborough, where he also joined Loughborough ITC, his current swimming club.

Upon retirement from competitive swimming, Grant formed the Joanne Jackson Swim Academy with his wife and fellow Olympic swimmer Joanne Jackson. The Swim Academy offers the opportunity for all to develop their swimming skills with two former Olympic swimmers.
