Heather started competing in triathlon in 2012. Originally she began as a swimmer and swam the English Channel when she was 18 raising £20,000 for charity.

Heather then went on to the University at Leeds and there she decided to give triathlon a go and hasn’t looked back since! Running used to be Heather’s weakest discipline but with consistent training utilising Leeds’ country roads and running trails, and training at the university’s World Class Centre it is now her strongest point.

Heather never thought she would be taking part in World Series events and championship races, but with hard work, commitment and a great training environment she believes anything is possible.

Giving Back

Heather has attended many schools to give talks and deliver PE lessons to encourage young children to take part in sport, while sharing her experiences with others. Heather has spoken to large audiences about her sporting career and how to juggle academic work with training and about her swim across the Channel. Heather has also done ambassador days for British triathlon to promote events and help teach others the different disciplines within triathlon.
