"I done the care system, done a little time in prison. I really went through it… I literally was at the point where I didn’t know what was next and I didn’t see a future. I’d given up on myself.

I attended the Get on Track programme, gave it a chance and got so much out of it."

Community Champions takes young people who have already been through a Get on Track programme, and trains them to become leaders within their community. They are called Community Champions and they’re running a social action project in an area that either effects them personally or in the community they live in.

"Right now I’m flooding with ideas – I want to get all the Westminster Youth Clubs competing in a single sports day. I’ve always wanted to work with young people and youth work and now I’m actually getting a chance to do it. It’s going to be great, it’s going to be epic and everyone’s going to want to be involved."

We'll be keeping in touch with Izzy and our other Community Champions over the next four months. Follow their stories on Twitter and Facebook.
