Lauren was originally a tennis player, having competed in many junior tournaments and being coached by former world number eight Roger Taylor.

After an injury she was no longer able to compete so began playing golf at the age of 17.  During her first competitive round she shot a net 54 to win the Wimbledon Park Junior Open.  In the space of six months she reduced her handicap from 15 to 4.

After several wins and a course record at Camberley Heath she qualified for the Daily Telegraph National Finals in Dubai.  In August 2008 Lauren was awarded a full golf scholarship to attend Florida International University.  Before turning professional Lauren was the Surrey County Champion and the South of England Champion, representing Surrey at county week after winning the order of merit.  She turned professional in July 2012 and competed in tournaments all over the world.  Lauren has won 2 Pro-Am’s and her highest finish was Tied 2nd in South Africa.

Giving Back

Lauren joined the Trust in July 2016 and she has been involved in delivering Aspiring Minds days in a local school.

During Lauren’s time at University in America she was part of the student-athlete mentoring programme.  This involved going into schools and speaking to children about what her role as a student athlete entailed and what it takes to be able to combine University studies with sport.  Lauren found this to be extremely rewarding, being able to help and inspire the children to work hard at both their school work and their sports.  As part of this programme she also volunteered at various local events to help raise money for their schools programmes.
