Athletes Our athletes Lisa Kearney Lisa is a groundbreaking judoka from Belfast - she was the first female Irish judo competitor in the history of the Olympic Games. Among her many career highlights is her triumphant silver medal-winning performance at the Judo World Cup in Estonia, following which she went on to compete in London 2012 as a member of the Irish team. Lisa is currently based in Edinburgh and is coached by Ciaran Ward, who represented Ireland twice at the Olympic Games. Lisa also studies psychology at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh.
