Michaela was born in Watford and grew up in Cornwall. She attended Wadebridge School, where her PE teacher Dave Allen introduced her to weightlifting.

Michaela then went on to further education at Bodmin Community College and the University of Wales Institute in Cardiff.

Michaela has enjoyed a 22 year career in which she represented Team GB at two Olympic Games and was a medallist for Wales at four Commonwealth Games - including Gold in 2006.  

Michaela was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s 2011 Birthday Honours list.

Giving Back

Michaela joined the Trust in 2012 and has enjoyed making a difference to the lives of young people on various young people programmes but mainly Get On Track and On Track To Achieve.  Michaela strives to give time to young people to make a real difference.
