Students from Dame Alice Owens School - who have been involved with the Trust's programmes - will also attend the event to help promote the charity's work.

Dame Kelly Holmes, Founder and President at Dame Kelly Holmes Trust, said: “I’m extremely excited about taking part in the BGC Charity Day and raising funds to support our work with young people facing disadvantage across the UK.

“It’s a real privilege to be asked along to such a positive event, which stems from something so tragic. There’s an incredible array of personalities and charities taking part and along with Joanne and Kristian we’ll be doing our best to seal some big trades and raise loads of money for my charity and other good causes.”

Shaun Lynn, President of BGC Partners, said: “Our annual Charity Days have now raised over $137 million for charity, which is a remarkable achievement. September 11th is day close to the hearts of everyone at BGC and the support we receive from our clients, our staff and our participating charities every year is incredible. I look forward to another day raising money this year and would like to personally thank everyone involved in making 2017 Charity Day another one to remember.”

Charity Day 2017 will also take place across a number of BGC and its group of companies’ international offices including New York, Paris, Singapore, Hong Kong, São Paulo and Sydney.
