About us Our news Supporting World of Work Week Dame Kelly Holmes Trust are really pleased to be partnering with the Aldridge Foundation to help deliver video content and Q&As as part of their World of Work Week in March which focusses on the sport and fitness industry. The Aldridge Foundation help young people from disadvantaged communities develop the employability and life skills and entrepreneurial mindsets to succeed. They aim to inspire, skill and mobilise the young people they support on their journey through education and onwards into their careers and lives. Their values and aims fit in perfectly with the Trust and so we were happy to support when they approached us about a sports and fitness industry themed World of Work Week. Being able to hear first hand the kind of roles that professionals do and the skills they have is invaluable for young people to give them a greater insight into the world of work. Here's how we’re getting involved over the next few weeks: Six athletes have recorded a 10-minute day in the life video. You can see David Hill's below. Our athletes will join a live panel Q&A session answering questions from young people. They will record a spotlight session - a short 5 min video, inspiring young people to take action by learning something new, practicing or developing a skill. A Day in the Life of David Hill You can view all of our athletes videos in the A Day in the Life section of the Aldridge Foundation's website. You can also see diver Yona Knight-Wisdom talk about the Three P's, David Hill sharing his tips for goal setting and try and beat netballer Beth Cobden in three netball challenges - all in their spotlight sessions. You can also find loads more interesting content from other professionals in the sport and fitness industry as well as many other interesting areas of work on the Aldridge Foundation website.
