Tony is a former professional footballer who has played over 350 first class games in the English football league.

Aged only 16 years old he left school and signed for Newcastle United in 1987; making his debut at just 17 years of age, before becoming the second youngest player to score on their debut appearance for the club.

His career highlights including playing at Wembley Stadium and scoring during the 1995 play-off final to secure promotion for the club. Tony was also a member of the 1997 Chesterfield squad that made it all the way to the FA Cup semi-final.

Giving Back

Tony began working on young people programmes for the Trust in the Derbyshire area. Since being diagnosed with cancer in December 2013 he has devoted himself to helping others, and in January 2015 he embarked on a five day dog sled expedition to the Arctic, in the process raising nearly £6500 for Lymphoma Association.
