Steven's Story
“Working with Olympians from Dame Kelly Holmes Trust and with the guys from PeacePlayers, you don’t get opportunities like that all the time.”
Steven attend the Young Ambassador part of the DfC Uniting Communities Young Leaders Training & Ambassadors programme in 2018/19. The programme enables young people to develop their leadership skills further to become agents of social change and to further good relations for their peers, families and their communities. This is done through a structured process of training and mentoring support using physical activity, sport and creative activities.
Through experiences of his own and also with the support of the mentors on the programme, Steven thinks he'll be able to help young people and be a role model to them in their communities.
“Steven has shown a real will to learn. He’s wanted more and more information and that shows a real motivation to improve himself. It’s going to be great to see where these guys go in the next twelve months.”
