What do you do right now
I am Global Head of an electronic foreign exchange business for a leading, multi-national, inter-dealer broking company.

Relevant experience for Trustee role
Through my work, I have been Chair of and involved in a number of committees and affiliation groups which champion and advocate for diversity in my industry. I am a volunteer for Inspiring the Future, which brings together workplace volunteers with schools and colleges to broaden the horizons of children and young people, raise their aspirations and increase their motivation to learn. I am also a Trustee for the Jubilee Hall Trust, a group of community-based gyms in London.

Why you love working with the Trust
As a keen sportswoman, I am passionate about the impact sport can have on us all. Young people face huge pressures in the current climate, from social, economic and environmental challenges, so the Trust’s transformational programmes, based around sport and wellbeing is needed more than ever. Working in a young person's sports charity allows me to combine my passion for sports with a deep sense of purpose. The ability to positively influence the lives of young individuals, promote healthy lifestyles, and contribute to the development of future leaders makes every day in this role incredibly rewarding.

What’s your sport
Where to start? Distance cycling, running, triathlons, tennis, netball, squash, anything gym-based. I’ve also recently taken up calisthenics.

What do you do right now
Founder and Director at Sport and Beyond Ltd.

Relevant experience for Trustee role
Much of my day job involves coaching senior leaders across sectors, as well as providing strategic interventions at Board and Senior Leadership level. I have a passionate belief in the power of sport. This has been driven through my own experiences of playing and coaching, and through my professional life which has led me to work alongside Olympic athletes, coaches, and those who operate at the grassroots of sport. My first career as a corporate lawyer and my current role as Chair of the O Shaped Lawyer mean I bring a distinct perspective to my role as Trustee.

Why you love working with the Trust
I love working with the Trust as it is run by a group of people who work hard, with humility and determination, in pursuit of the organisation’s Purpose: to equip young people with the positive behaviours and mindset they need to tackle the disadvantage they face due to inequality in their everyday lives.

What’s your sport
I played both tennis and hockey at representative level as a youngster, and still wield my tennis racket in a determined (if not always successful) way.

I am a trustee and consultant

30 years in the IT industry with world leading brands on transformational projects, as well as starting more people based programmes, positions me well to take on the challenge

The Trust has a simple, unique yet effective series of programmes that gets right to the heart of our future - young people - and helps them to achieve their goals .. what’s not to like!!

What’s your sport
I will watch and participate in anything, but my body has other ideas.. so I’m now heavily involved with RFU in Rugby, all sports with Sport England and playing Golf

What do you do right now
I’m a senior technical professional with a broad and diverse technical consultancy background, across sectors, segments, countries and continents. I currently work at Cisco and am responsible for driving the growth of Cisco Datacentre technologies across Europe, Middle East, Africa and Russia.

Relevant experience for Trustee role
I bring digital skills, and years of experience of working with different organisations, supporting them implement technology to transform their businesses and operations. I am also a long time mentor of young girls in school.

Why you love working with the Trust
I am an ardent fan of Dame Kelly Holmes, and love the concept of leveraging the tenacity and skills of athletes to inspire and transform the lives of the next generation, whilst creating new opportunities for (these) transitioning athletes.

What do you do right now
I am Community Manager at Tobacco Dock, which involves outreach and philanthropic support in the Community. I am on the Board of Governors at a primary school in Tower Hamlets and am on the Advisory Board of Brand Advance, a diversity media agency. I also work with Bath City FC Foundation, as the Chair of Trustees and BBC Children in Need as Chair of the Advisory Committee (SE).

Relevant experience for Trustee role
I worked in schools as a SEND teacher for 20 years moving to strategy and leadership roles in Third Sector organisations with a focus on education and sport. I am Chair of the Advisory Committee for BBC Children in Need working with the SE Region Team to make decisions and recommend funding for grants for projects that that allow children and young people thrive and be the best they can be. I am Chair of Bath City FC Foundation which aims to support the local community with sporting, health and wellbeing programmes. We are a grassroots organisation and are passionate about the work we do to address disadvantage in Bath & NE Somerset.

Why you love working with the Trust
It is a pleasure to work with Dame Kelly Holmes Trust and offer young people the chance to learn about themselves, acquire new skills and develop through sport. I love that the Trust makes a significant difference for young people to be the best version of themselves. Matching them up with world class athletes makes this a unique and dynamic partnership.

I’m an e-bike convert and enjoy hill walking and yoga.

Former professional basketball player who represented Great Britain and England at Olympics, Commonwealth and European Championship level.

Why you love working with the Trust
I closely identify with the young people that the Trust seeks to help and the athletes who provide the mentoring to those young people. I am inspired by the positive impact that the work of the Trust and its Athlete Mentors has on each of the young people engaged on its programmes.

What do you do right now
I am a fundraising professional within the charity sector and strategic leader with 22 years’ non-profit experience in both charities in the UK and internationally. With a broad range of experiences, I am driven by helping to create a positive impact in society and currently work as Director of Income Generation for a Hospice caring for and supporting thousands of patients and their families facing life limiting and life-threatening illness in Kent.

I am an accomplished leader, with a breadth and depth of multi-faceted fundraising and marketing expertise including key skills in income generation through successful partnerships, event management and philanthropic support.

Why you love working with the Trust
As a keen advocate of sport I’m especially passionate about inclusivity and harnessing the power and value of good wellbeing and fitness. Celebrating young people in their achievements and success – however big or small is a huge motivator.

What’s your sport
I’m a keen runner and self-confessed gym addict, also enormously proud to be one of Dame Kelly’s ‘Troopers’ too!

Paula has extensive senior management experience in the Charity and Not for Profit Sector. She is a qualified accountant who has worked in a number of organisations including the Commonwealth Secretariat and Lloyds Bank Foundation managing the support services.

I am currently the Head of Philanthropy & Partnerships at the national financial insecurity charity, Turn2us. I also act a an advisor to the relationship charity, Let Me Know (LMK).

I bring a decade of experience working in income generation for major national charities, developing and executing strategic change and delivering transformational income change.

I am a venture capital investor with a focus on software and technology. I work at Octopus Ventures and invest in early stage start-ups that have a commercialised product and are in the scale-up phase of their growth journey.

I bring over a decade of working in financial services and am a qualified chartered accountant. As an investor, I have backed numerous founders to achieve their growth ambitions and subsequently sit on the boards of these companies. This hands-on experience of driving growth, alongside a strong financial background means I bring a different perspective on how the Trust can reach its goals.

Why you love working with the Trust:

The work Dame Kelly Homes Trust does to equip disadvantaged young people to be the best version of themselves, through partnerships with athletes, I find truly inspiring. I’ve had the privilege of having some amazing coaches and mentors that have built my confidence, so the purpose of the Trust really struck a chord with me.  Sporting success requires resilience, determination and teamwork – these same values can be applied to our personal lives and careers, and this is exactly what Dame Kelly Holmes Trust looks to harness.
