Following your sessions with your athlete mentor, we want you to continue to feel supported. We’ve created these videos so that you can get more information on the topics you’ve covered with your athlete mentor, or that they have suggested will interest or benefit you based on what you’ve been talking about.

We know you have been working with your athlete mentor on supporting your wellbeing. Perhaps you were working on something specific, or maybe you talked through a lot of things that could help you maintain good physical and mental health. In this page you’ll find a range of workout videos so you can stay active, which we know benefits your recovery. We’ve also created podcasts and workshops that you can use to continue to support your wellbeing as you carry on your journey.

The videos you will find below are designed to give you bitesize pieces of information and advice from our team of athlete mentors. You can watch them in your own time, or look at the videos that are most relevant to you and how you are feeling.

Our one-to-one mentoring programmes support young people on their journey to recovery during or following their time spent in hospital for a range of health conditions. Athlete mentors, who are trained by the Trust to use their unique skills and experience form the world of elite sport to act as mentors and role models for young people, promote the intrinsic link between physical and mental wellbeing as a core element of these one-to-one sessions. Young people are encouraged to choose an athlete mentor they feel they best relate to and will take part in a minimum of three one-to-one mentoring sessions. Our athlete mentors offer encouragement, support and importantly, someone to talk to who is not part of their healthcare plan - considered extremely valuable by many of the young people.
